The House

Overview · progress

A year-long guide for families building a Christ-centered home. Five parts of a house, two months for each one. Check off what your family actually does and watch the house get built.

The HomeFront house A house drawing in five layers (foundation, walls, windows, door and roof) that fill in solid as your family completes each pillar. THE ROOF THE WALLS THE FOUNDATION THE WINDOWS THE DOOR

Five parts of a house, each one a different area of family faith. The drawing fills in as your family works through the practices and weekly focuses below. Whatever is still dashed hasn't been built yet.

Getting started

Don't try to do it all at once. The HomeFront is meant to unfold gradually, the way a house gets built, one layer at a time.

The Year

11 months · plus Advent

Start whenever you receive this guide. Each pillar gets two months, which is enough time to build the habit before moving on, and the study itself runs eleven months. December is always Advent, whoever you are and wherever you have got to, and the study picks up again in January. The months below follow your family rather than the date: whatever month you are on sits on the month it is now, so falling behind moves the year along with you.

Each part reinforces the others. Let this summary shape your family's language: What's our foundation this week? How can we strengthen our walls? Which stories will open our windows? Who can we welcome through our door? How will we rest under the Spirit's roof?
